Advanced Analytics on Covert Channel Threats
Advanced Persistent Threats have significantly increased their persistent modules by taking advantage of stealthy network communications.
The aim of this presentation is to provide and carefully cover the literature on covert command and control communications channels as well as the detection methods already available in these fields.
The second part of this talk will focus on the illustration of a selected approach to efficiently detect hidden transfer channels, based on the employment of data analytics techniques.

Federica Bisio is a Data Scientist in aizoOn's cyber security division and her expertise involves developing data-driven algorithms for anomalies and abnormal behaviour detection.
Federica Bisio obtained a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Robotics and Telecommunications at the University of Genoa (Italy), with an exchange program with the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, and her thesis involved Machine Learning applications in Network Security.
