ISO/IEC 27001’s risk-based security controls

With the extensive use of electronic data and communications, protecting the transmissions and storage of privileged client information has become one of the most important concerns for organisations across the globe. This session deliberates the value of ISO/IEC 27001’s risk-based security controls for protecting client information in organizations from cyber-attacks, and the benefits and challenges of aligning your organizations Information Security Management System (ISMS) with ISO/IEC 27001’s requirements. Key areas covered in the session are the components of ISMS programs, adding value, and improving performance through ISMS and preparing for cyber-attacks.

Speaker: Dushyant Sanathara - Dushyant joined BSI Group in 2011 and has now worked in the management systems and certification industry for more than 6 years. He is a graduate of UTS holding both an MBA and a Master of E-business with a focus on cyber security.

He has extensive experience working with organisations as they implement, certify and maintain Information Security Management Systems in line with the international standard, ISO/IEC 27001. He is also expert in various other international standards including Cloud Security, ISO 31000 Risk Management, ISO 22301 Business Continuity, and BS 65000 Organisational Resilience.
Before moving into certification, he worked for 6 years in marketing and e-business.
