Canberra Branch Meeting - June 27

Canberra Branch Meeting
Join us for the Canberra Branch Meeting with guest speaker Glen Barclay from Anomali on Technical Cyber Lab

Topic: Technical Cyber Lab
In this hands-on session, Glen aims to demonstrate the value of automating threat intelligence into an organisations security processes. We will use Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) technology, integrated into a demonstrative security stack to block an active threat to our organisation through the sharing of threat intelligence. We will also show how easy it can be to answer those questions from the CISO that all security teams dread; "Are these attacks a threat to us?" and "Have we been hacked by this lot?".

Speaker: Glen Barclay, Anomali
Glen Barclay has been working in security for the past 18 years. As a member of the RAAF, he worked as one of the founding members of the ADFCSERT in the late 1990s/2000s, then moving on to working in and managing the Defence Internet Gateway for a short period of time before moving into contracting roles, helping agencies meet their ISM, and later, PSPF requirements. Glen took the first of his sales engineering roles with HPE, helping organisations and agencies build their security practices with SIEM and ArcSight before returning to compliance and governance, supporting APJ organisations to build GRC solutions.

After a short stint working as part of the Lockheed Martin team with the F-35 project, Glen is now working for Anomali, a start-up out of California USA, which specialises in providing capabilities around Threat Intelligence aggregation, curation and management, which really boils down to helping give organisations the ability to better understand the current threats and risks to their business.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
