Applications for the 2020 CyRise accelerator program are now open
CyRise is pleased to announce applications for its cyber security startup accelerator program are now open. Cohort four will commence in Melbourne in September 2020, with applications being encouraged from all over Australia. Potential founders can apply with their early-stage cyber security solution via the CyRise website.

“Hearing about unique solutions for the first time, and seeing the untapped potential of these founders, is always a high point. Every year, I am impressed with the talent that emerges. It’s a privilege to work with the region’s best cyber security talent, and amazing to see how their solutions are contributing to the growth of our ecosystem”, said CyRise CEO, Scott Handsaker.

“We’re proud to say that CyRise portfolio companies are thriving. Cydarm have raised over $1 million in venture funding, and Hackhunter have secured an AustCyber grant to build out their secure WiFi and drone service. Aiculus is expanding into the Asia Pacific region, while Dekko Secure continues to secure huge wins in the law enforcement and legal sectors after raising $1 million during the CyRise program. Cynch made the top 7 at the New York City global Moonshot Challenge, then followed it up with a seed round from prominent investors.

Detexian recently signed a 3-year enterprise contract and are averaging one PoC per week, while SecureStack was named one of the 12 hottest startups on the globe at RSA 2019. These are amazing achievements and really speak to the strength of the growing Australian cyber security scene”, said Handsaker.

As part of the hunt for new companies, CyRise will be hosting a webinar on Friday July 2nd. Attendees can expect interactive content and conversation from the CyRise founder alumni and mentor networks. The CyRise team will speak about the 2020 program and be available in the lead up to, and following the event to have one-on-one meetings via phone or video with those considering applying.

Cyber security startups that are selected for the CyRise program receive $50,000 in investment, intensive mentoring, deep access to early customers, a funded trip overseas and in-depth assistance with subsequent fundraising.

“We are looking for up to ten companies to join us for the fourth cohort, and this time around we have reduced the program length from four months down to three. The content and connections we deliver remains the same, so the program just becomes a little more intense”, said Head of Program and Comms, Chloe Dutschke.

Applications close July 17 2020.
