Topic 1: Value
This presentation explores 'Value' in terms of strategic alignment of portfolios, the balance of investment versus benefits, and also discusses the idea of 'Value' from an agile delivery perspective.

Speaker: Simona Dimovski, Chief Information Officer at Sutherland Shire Council
Simona is a strategic leader with extensive knowledge of how technology enables business value and growth. Simona brings a wealth of expertise across the Information Management and Technology sector, and has a diverse background in both corporate and government settings. Operating Models and bringing Agility to practice, Simona has lead the evolution of IT across top tier brands within the Finance, Aviation, Energy and Government industries.

Topic 2: Update on Security and Privacy Law
This presentation will cover the following:

  • Current status of the Telecommunications and other legislation (Assistance and Access) Act (the Encryption Bill)
  • The Abhorrent Violent Material law: who it covers and how providers can be liable
  • Update Privacy Law: the latest Mandatory data breach notification stats and the proposals put forward by the ACCC platforms inquiry
Speaker: Patrick Fair, Partner at Baker McKenzie 
Patrick Fair is a leading adviser in telecommunications regulation and data protection law.  He is Chairman of the Communications Security Reference Panel at Communications Alliance. He is a member of the IoT Alliance of Australia Security Working Group and prepared the initial draft of the IoTAA’s national IoT Cyber  Security Strategy.  Patrick is supervising Editor of  LexisNexis Practical Guidance (Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Privacy) and joint author of the Cyber Security chapters in that publication. He is a past President of the Law Society of New South Wales. He was described as an “Excellent Practitioner” in Asia Pacific 500.
 
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers at the end of the presentation.
