Perth Branch Meeting: April 10

Perth Day Month: Meeting Name
"Digital Forensic Readiness", with Bex Hirdman, Forensic Analyst, BDO Australia

Digital Forensic Readiness

Digital Forensic Readiness (DFR) refers to an organisation’s level of capability to collect, preserve and analyse digital evidence in a legally admissible, timely and cost-efficient manner so that this evidence can be effectively used in investigations, litigation or disciplinary procedures.
DFR does not necessarily require an organisation to be capable of undertaking digital forensic procedures in-house. Rather, it involves implementing proactive measures that will assist with reducing costs, minimizing interruption to business and ensuring that digital evidence is identified, preserved, and ready to be collected by suitable personnel when it is required.
During the presentation, Bex will share her observations on the Digital Forensic Readiness of Australian organisations and discuss the basic cyber security measures that can improve investigation outcomes.

Speaker:  Bex Hirdman, Forensic Analyst, BDO Australia
