Information security awareness raising (ISAR) project.
Topic: "In this presentation, Mark will describe an information security awareness raising (ISAR) project, consisting of an education and communication campaign. The theoretical framework for the project was based on industry best practices and practical academic research and was implemented in a Queensland government agency.
The presentation will include discussion of the importance of engaging the audience and the use of appropriate performance metrics for ISAR activities."
Speaker: Mark Carey-Smith has been an information security professional for around 18 years. He has worked in operational and architectural infosec roles as well as lecturing, and for his sins, completed a PhD. Mark's philosophy is that information security should be an enabler of business and is fascinated with the behavioural antecedents of the decisions that people make when they use, or abuse, information. Mark currently works as an Information Security Manager for the Queensland government. In his spare time Mark enjoys veggie gardening and not thinking about work.
