Addressing the Cyber Security Workforce Gap – Ways to Grow and Promote Cyber Security as a Vocation
In this presentation, we will look at the size and extent of the cyber security workforce and skills gap, where and why those shortages exist, where the opportunities for careers lie and how industry, academia, government and associations such as AISA are instrumental in closing the cyber security workforce and skills gap.

Speaker: Tony Vizza
Tony Vizza has been involved in the information technology and information security fields for more than 25 years. His information security credentials include CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) and is a certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor.

Tony has a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Technology, Sydney, Global Executive MBA from the University of Sydney which included study at Stanford University, The London School of Economics and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is currently studying for a Juris Doctor degree at the University of New South Wales.

Matthew Mansour
Matthew Mansour has been in the IT industry for over 21 years, he has a diverse background working as a BA, Project Manager, IT Auditor and Educator. His focus in recent years has been developing the next generation of graduates at MQ University for the ever-growing Cyber Security market. Matthew also continues to be an IT consultant within the SME market which helps him keep abreast of the ever-changing IT/Cyber Sector.

Teresa Pun
Teresa Pun leads the implementation of the NSW Cyber Security Industry Development Strategy launched in November 2018. Teresa had been involved in a range of industry development strategies that has a focus on digital transformation component such as the medical technologies, advanced manufacturing, financial services and creative industries sectors. Prior to joining NSW Government, she has an MBA and a Bachelor degree in electronic engineering with over 10 years’ industry experience in Information and Communication Technology including the CSIRO.

Todd Williams
Currently Director of the NSW Cyber Security Network - established in January 2018 by the NSW Government to address cyber security challenges in NSW. The Network determines imperative cyber security issues and engages experts to develop and implement strategies to address them.

Todd applies specialist skills and experience in economic and STEM workforce development to maximise the economic potential of NSW’s cyber security industry by promoting its R&D capability and building a skilled, technology-driven workforce trained to forecast and address the sector’s future requirements.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers at the end of the presentations.
