Online voting and DDoS mitigation: the story of iVote WA 2017
For our November meeting, Mark will be presenting the research work he performed on the iVote online voting system used in the 2017 WA state election. Secure online voting is an incredibly hard problem, made all the more difficult when DDoS mitigation services are used without a full appreciation of the security trade-offs involved.

Speaker: Mark Eldridge
Mark is a software and cyber security engineer with a background in software defined radio and embedded systems development. He has worked in cyber security consulting for government and financial organisations in Australia and Sweden, and completed his Master's thesis on the use of electronic voting systems in Australia.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.

We will also have a job opportunities presentation and whiteboard. If you are advertising a role in Adelaide, please feel free to include it on our job opportunities whiteboard and give a quick talk on the role.
