August Brisbane Branch meeting wrap

August 2016

The August AISA Brisbane meeting, held on 31 August, was sponsored by Tripwire and BDO. Wayne from Tripwire spoke for a few minutes at the start of the meeting and expressed appreciation of how the Brisbane Branch has grown over the years.

The main feature of the meeting was a presentation from Vlad Segnovoy about his experiences with security risk assessments in his role as Group ICT Security Manager at UnitingCare Queenlsand. There were around 40 members in attendance and all enjoyed the presentation. The interest in the presentation was high and some members emailed the branch following to the meeting to have their comments and additional queries forwarded to Vlad.

At the meeting, former Brisbane Branch Chair, Lani Refiti, gave a brief update on BrisSEC17 and welcomed volunteers, ideas and support from the members. Brisbane committee member Reece Stewart encouraged registration for the National Conference.

We look forward to seeing you at next month's meeting.
