AISA NT Branch Meeting | 2 December 2022

AISA Branch Meeting
Jointly hosted by the AISA NT Branch and the Energy and Resources Institute, Charles Darwin University, please join us for a hybrid meeting and networking lunch opportunity with a live and interactive presentation and discussion on the cyber threats in the energy and utility sector.

Topic: Cyber security and the utility sector: Battling the complex and adaptive threat
While Australia's digital sector is increasingly battling cyber threats, threats to the energy and utility sectors are not far behind. Although the benefits of integrating a utility's IT and OT networks are evident, rising security threats and evolving security and privacy requirements complicate the process. Cyber security is their number one concern when it comes to converging IT and OT networks, according to a recent survey of utility leaders.

How do cyber security threats impact the energy and utility industry?

There will be a range of interesting topics discussed by the speakers during the talk.

  • Why does cyber security matter to the energy sector?
  • What makes you a target?
  • De-mystifying common attacks and common terminology
  • Common cyber effects – a series of slides that expand on the attacks/effects a threat actor can generate
  • A maturity model for cyber security in the energy sector.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and light lunch will be served after the presentation.
